Weekend Retreat Overview

Silent retreats combine periods of sitting and walking meditation. Instruction and opportunities for group discussion and individual interviews with the teacher will be included as we explore the transformative power of meditation for our lives. Each retreat in an Insight Meditation retreat (unless otherwise specified) with a particular theme.

  • We recommend that you wear comfortable clothes and warm socks during the colder seasons, as we do walking meditation on tile floor.
  • At lunchtime a volunteer will offer a pot of vegetarian soup and bread. You are encouraged to bring your own lunch if you prefer. Our kitchen has a fridge and a microwave for use.
  • The first half of any full day retreat may be taken as a half day retreat. (Half day: 9am-12:30pm)

9:45 - 10:15am - Walking

10:15 - 11:00am - Sitting

11:00 - 11:30am - Walking

11:30 - 12:15pm - Sitting

12:15 - 12:30pm - Morning Closing

12:30 - 1:30pm - Lunch/Break

Afternoon

1:30 - 2:15pm - Talk/Sitting

2:15 - 2:45pm - Walking

2:45 - 3:30pm - Sitting

3:30 - 4:00pm - Walking

4:00 - 4:45pm - Sitting

4:45 - 5:00pm - Close
