Practice Oriented Book Group (10/6-12/27)
Tuesday, November 24, 2020 - 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm
"The Inner Work of Racial Justice: Healing Ourselves and Transforming Our Communities Through Mindfulness” by Rhonda Magee explores the intersection of mindfulness and Buddhist practice and racial justice. With guided meditations, mindfulness exercises, and insights from her own experience, Magee guides us in the practice of embodied mindfulness—paying attention to thoughts, feelings, and physical sensations in an open, nonjudgmental way-- to increase our emotional resilience, and give ourselves space to become less reactive and to choose how to respond to injustice. Rhonda Magee is a lawyer, law professor, and mindfulness practitioner.
This group will meet every other Tuesday (10/6, 10/20, 11/10, 11/24,12/8 and 12/22 - no meeting on 11/3-Election Day).
