Freedom Through Non-Clinging
Saturday, October 23, 2021 - 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
A Full Day Retreat, with Half Day Option
With Chas DiCapua
Freedom through non-clinging. This phrase was uttered by the Buddha many, many times. It is at the core of bringing peace and contentment to the heart and mind. The Noble Eightfold Path is not about attaining exalted states, or become an extraordinary person. It’s about letting go of clinging. When we can frame the practice simply as that, and remember that, it can really simplify what we’re doing and bring a greater sense of ease to the practice.
During our day together we will practice with the simplicity of letting go of clinging. Not getting anywhere or becoming anything. Just letting go. The practice will be appropriate for experienced meditators as well as folks just starting out.
In order to attend this retreat, you must be fully vaccinated. You will have to show proof of vaccination at the door, or you may also email me with a copy of your proof of vaccination before the retreat.
Ongoing Covid precautions: At this point we are not requiring masks at the Center as proof of full vaccination is required for participants and staff (if you would like to wear a mask, you are welcome to). As an added precaution, if you have cold or flu like symptoms, we ask that you do not attend any offering until you have had a negative quick covid test. At any teachers’ discretion, masks may be required. This will be posted in their offering’s description.
Once you have registered for this offering, you will be sent a confirmation email.
There is a half day option that runs from 9am-12:30pm.
Lunch: For those staying for the entire retreat, a volunteer will provide vegetarian soup, salad and bread at lunchtime. Participants are encouraged to bring their own lunch or a supplement for the soup, if they prefer. A microwave and refrigerator are available.
