Loving Kindness for the Holidays
Saturday, December 18, 2021 - 9:30 am to 12:30 pm
With Matthew Daniell
The Dalai Lama said that “love is a not a luxury, but a necessity,” yet in our hearts we often do not feel love for ourselves or others and we bear the painful consequences. In this workshop, we will explore time tested Buddhist practices which tap the power of intention through offering phrases of loving kindness (metta) to ourselves and others. When cultivated, loving kindness practice helps us to heal our own hearts by loving ourselves more deeply. It can also help us touch those in our lives and the world with a deeper sense of love and connection. Touching love for ourselves and others can be especially helpful during the holiday season with all of its inherent stresses. All are welcome.
Immediately following this retreat will be our Holiday Potluck Lunch, Dharma Talk and Community Sharing lunch from 12:30-3pm.
In order to attend this retreat, you must be fully vaccinated. You will have to show proof of vaccination at the door, or you may also email the Director with a copy of your proof of vaccination before the retreat. Once you have produced your vaccination card, you do not have to bring it again.
Ongoing Covid precautions: At this point we are not requiring masks at the Center as proof of full vaccination is required for participants and staff (if you would like to wear a mask, you are welcome to). At any teachers’ discretion, masks may be required. This will be posted in their offering’s description.
